78% of Gen Z would join an organisation that put mental health first, according to research by CERIPH Limited and ERIC, the creative careers app.
The research found that mental health support was the main factor for Gen Z when choosing an employer.
Eight out of 10 candidates checked online reviews before applying for a job.
49% said they preferred a hybrid work model, while 61% said they would pick long-term growth over short-term gain.
Perks like gyms and restaurants in the office ranked lowest in importance.
The report warned that companies risked losing future talent if they did not meet these expectations.
It recommended employers build inclusive workplaces, engage honestly and personalise recruitment to match Gen Z priorities.
Simon Thomas, director of CERIPH, said: “Gen Z are looking for a new approach. They want respect, flexibility, and genuine support for their mental well-being.
“In return, they bring energy, fresh perspectives, and a commitment to learn and grow with their employers.”
