Cumbria Pension Fund has been shortlisted for two national awards at the LGC Investment Awards.

The fund, run by Westmorland and Furness Council and part of the Local Government Pension Scheme, was named as one of four finalists for small fund of the year.

Finance manager Allison ‘Ally’ McGuinness is also a finalist for outstanding individual contribution.

This comes after the fund was a finalist last year in the Environmental, Social and Governance Innovation category, which recognised work on responsible investment.

Councillor Doug Rathbone, chair of the Cumbria Pensions Committee, said: “This is excellent news for the fund and those specifically involved in all the hard work to get us to where we are.

“This is the second year in succession that we have been recognised after being a finalist in 2024 in the Environmental, Social and Governance Innovation category for our work on responsible investment.

“This displays a track record of achievement to the wider market and to our members and I’d like to congratulate the whole team.”

Winners will be announced in London on 28th November.
