South Square has appointed Hon. Justice Ian Kawaley (pictured) to its chambers as a member of the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) team.
With experience spanning over four decades in judicial, academic, and advisory roles across Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and the wider Caribbean, Justice Kawaley brings invaluable expertise to the role.
Currently serving as a Justice of Appeal on Bermuda’s Court of Appeal and as a Judge of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, his previous roles include Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Bermuda from 2012 to 2018 and Acting Justice of Appeal for the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.
Beyond his judicial accomplishments, Kawaley is a leading voice in legal scholarship, with extensive publications on offshore legal systems and contributions to key titles in the field.
