Members of the House of Lords will start reviewing the Employment Rights Bill on 29th April.
The bill is set to update current employment laws, covering pay and conditions in certain sectors, and make changes on trade union matters and industrial action.
The main issues are zero hours contracts, fire and rehire, flexible working, and unfair dismissal.
The lords will go through the bill section by section during committee stage, looking at the wording and considering proposals for new or changed clauses.
Three committee sessions are scheduled for 29th April and 8th May though these dates may be subject to change.
On the first day, amendments will be put forward on fixed term contracts and agency workers, guaranteed hours, the definition of ‘reasonable notice’, and unfair dismissal.
