Independent pensions and financial services consultancy Hymans Robertson has appointed Sachin Patel as head of corporate defined benefits (DB).
Patel will lead the team supporting corporate clients with DB pension schemes.
He has worked at Hymans Robertson since 2014, most recently as head of corporate DB endgame strategy and lead consultant in the corporate DB pensions team.
Patel said: “The DB landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, with many schemes now in a significantly stronger funding position and able to explore strategic options that were previously out of reach.
“I’m thrilled to step into this role at such a pivotal and innovative time for the market, and to help our clients navigate this evolving environment with confidence.
“With the upcoming Pensions Bill and the potential for substantial changes in the UK DB sector, it’s essential that the voices of all stakeholders, particularly corporates and individual members, remain central to the conversation.”
Patel added: “I’m excited to lead our team as we continue to deliver forward-thinking and long-term support to our clients.”
Leonard Bowman, head of corporate consulting at Hymans Robertson, said: “Sachin is a senior member of the Corporate DB team and has played a key role in the firm’s thinking and innovation in an everchanging and fast-moving DB pensions market.
“In this role he will help our corporate clients navigate the array of opportunities available for DB schemes.
“He will also ensure that our clients are well-positioned to respond to, and benefit from, the evolving regulatory and policy landscape.”
Bowman added: “Sachin brings a wealth of experience, deep market insight, and a collaborative approach that will be invaluable as we support our clients through this exciting period of change.”
