Hymans Robertson, the independent pensions and financial services consultancy, has appointed Kathryn Fleming as head of defined contribution (DC) consulting from April 2025.
Fleming joined the firm as part of its graduate programme and has been a partner since 2019.
She specialises in advising trustees and governance committees on pension strategy, and has a vast understanding of decumulation, governance and DEI.
Fleming is also a trustee and governor at the Pensions Policy Institute and a member of the industry-wide Pensions Equity Group.
Fleming takes over the role from Mark Jaffray, who will now focus on strategic investment advice and innovation.
Fleming said: “The past few years has been a period of huge change and innovation for the pensions market, and I’m delighted to take on the role of Head of DC Consulting overseeing our DC business at this exciting time.
“I believe there has never been a better opportunity to influence and help individual savers to achieve the very best retirement they can through maximising the returns on their invested contributions and making use of decumulation and retirement solutions that are increasingly member-centric.”
Paul Waters, head of DC markets at Hymans Robertson, said: “Kathryn is a senior and passionate member of the DC team and has been leading the firm’s thinking around decumulation.
“In her new role, she will help our clients navigate the changing DC landscape to help drive pensions equity, and ensure solutions are embedded to help individuals achieve the best retirement they can.”
