Deliveroo has launched a new childcare support initiative for its riders, in collaboration with the childcare booking app Bubble. This service offers 1,000 riders 15 hours of free, flexible in-home childcare on a first-come, first-served basis. The benefit, aimed at supporting Deliveroo riders with childcare, eldercare, and pet care needs, enhances the company’s flexible work model.

This initiative follows a survey among Deliveroo riders in the UK and Ireland, revealing that a significant majority of riders with caring responsibilities (88%) primarily care for children and 81% expressed a need for care support.

Camilla Kater, senior vice president of care and rider at Deliveroo, highlighted the company’s dedication to rider welfare: “At Deliveroo, we’re committed to investing in our riders’ development, welfare, and future. The new free childcare offering gives parents more flexibility and opportunity to ride when they want. The benefits of offering this type of support have a hugely positive impact on wellbeing and fulfilment.”

Beyond childcare support, Deliveroo offers a suite of benefits including free Headspace memberships, access to employee assistance programmes, gym memberships, volunteer time, flexible working hours, a work-from-home kit, a parental leave policy, and performance-based cash bonuses. Medical support or insurance is also provided, varying by location.
