Barnett Waddingham has been appointed to provide actuarial and investment consulting services to the Greencore UK Retirement Benefit Scheme.
The move brings all pension services under one adviser and aims to improve communication and efficiency.
The Barnett Waddingham team for the scheme includes David Barnett as investment consulting partner, Andy Greig as pension administration partner and David Guest as senior pension management consultant.
Paul Hubbold, lead partner and scheme actuary at Barnett Waddingham, said: “Expanding our support for the Greencore Scheme marks a significant step forward, both for BW and for the Scheme.
“By bringing together our existing work in Pension Administration and Board Management Services with newly added Investment and Actuarial Consulting, we’re now delivering a truly integrated service model to support the Scheme and its members.
“It’s a clear reflection of the trust we’ve built and the value we’re delivering, and we’re looking forward to deepening that relationship even further.”
Allan Whalley, trustee chair at Strettea Independent Trustees Limited, said: “Following a benchmarking exercise, the Trustee concluded that moving to BW as a bundled service was the right step.
“The transition to BW administration in 2018 went very smoothly, and the team has consistently delivered excellent service since then and we didn’t want to disrupt that.
“This move was all about improving efficiency and reducing overall cost, and we’re confident it’s the right outcome for the Trustee, the members and the sponsor.”
Whalley added: “I am grateful to our previous advisers for the important role they played in helping the Scheme reach this point, but this decision was about what’s best for the Scheme going forward.”
