Uber is offering NHS nurses and other frontline health workers discounted taxi rides and cut-price meals on Christmas Day as part of its festive support programme.
The initiative, now in its ninth year, gives staff with an NHS email address and health and social care (HSC) workers in Northern Ireland £10 off two Uber rides on 25th December, along with a £10 Uber Eats voucher for meals or groceries.
Uber said the offer recognises healthcare workers who spend Christmas caring for patients instead of celebrating at home.
Spencer James, money saving expert at NHS Discount Offers, said: “We are all indebted to the incredible NHS and HSC workers who selflessly care for the nation over the festive season.
“This initiative by Uber is a simple but meaningful way of acknowledging just how grateful we all are for the vital work healthcare staff do both at Christmas and throughout the year.
“It’s great to see Uber giving health staff workers a chance to ease the burden of a busy Festive period, and enjoy a well earned meal.”
To get the discounts, staff must link their Uber account to their official NHS or HSC email address by 23:59 on 21st December.
Eligible workers will receive a promotional code via email, which can be redeemed on Christmas Day.
The codes must be used on 25th December 2025 and are subject to Uber’s standard terms and conditions.
