Matalan has appointed Beccy Davies as people and talent director, a new role aimed at strengthening its leadership team. 

Davies will report to CPO Alyson Fadil and is responsible for people strategy across stores, distribution centres and head office.

Davies was previously head of HR at Exertis UK, where she led people strategy for 1,200 employees and set up an employee relations centre of excellence. 

During her time there, the business won several awards for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Before Exertis, Davies spent more than eight years at Estée Lauder Companies in senior HR roles across the UK and Ireland, including director, HRBP for corporate functions and national HR business partner for retail. 

She supported over 8,000 retail employees for brands like MAC, Clinique, Tom Ford, Jo Malone London, Estée Lauder and Bobbi Brown.

Davies has also held HR leadership roles at Sofology and worked in HR and learning and development at Selfridges.
