Go Deploy’s research found that data scientist is the highest paid tech role in the UK, with an average salary of £58,817.
Network engineer followed at £58,651, and penetration tester at £57,782.
Other roles in the top 10 included data analyst (£56,797), machine learning engineer (£55,351), software tester (£54,522), cyber security analyst (£54,076), software engineer (£53,270), IT consultant (£52,132) and systems analyst (£50,705).
All 15 tech roles checked offered pay well above the UK average wage of £37,430.
Additionally, research found that 434,134 jobs required strong mathematical or analytical skills, and 421,634 required adaptability or willingness to keep learning.
Technical knowledge and creativity or innovation skills were required in every tech job listing checked.
Adaptability, attention to detail and communication skills all appeared in over 80% of adverts.
The report also found employers in the sector are now asking for a mix of traditional technical abilities and softer skills like communication and problem solving.
