Astor Media, the publisher of Workplace Journal, has acquired Touring.co.uk, a well-established digital publication serving the UK’s motorhome, caravan and camping community.
The acquisition marks the group’s first move into consumer publishing and forms part of its continued expansion across specialist markets.
Touring.co.uk began in 2011 as Discover Touring, a biannual print magazine distributed via WHSmith, Martin McColl and other major retailers. From 2012, the full magazine was also distributed digitally to around 50,000 subscribers each cycle. Over time, the title transitioned into a digital platform offering guides, vehicle reviews and travel features aimed at outdoor leisure enthusiasts.
Caroline Mills, editor of Touring.co.uk, said: “It has been a pleasure to work on Touring over the years, almost since its inception in 2011 to bring the joys of touring, camping inspiration and practical help to newcomers looking to go camping for the first time and those already appreciative of outdoor leisure. To look to the future, though, is always very exciting. The acquisition by Astor Media creates new energy and opens new opportunities for Touring alongside Astor’s existing brands. I very much look forward to working with the team.”
Ryan Fowler, managing director at Astor Media, said: “Touring.co.uk is a natural extension of our publishing model—deeply specialist, highly trusted, and with a clearly defined audience. It marks our first move into the consumer space and adds strength to our growing automotive and mobility division. We’re excited to develop the brand further.”
Felix Blakeston, operations director at Astor Media, added: “This is a strategic acquisition that complements our existing footprint. Touring.co.uk has heritage, an engaged readership, and commercial potential. Our focus now is to invest in the platform, listen to the audience, and explore how we can bring new value to both readers and partners.”
Helen Thorne, finance director at Astor Media, said: “Touring.co.uk has strong fundamentals and a clearly defined niche. From a commercial perspective, it offers meaningful long-term potential—both as a standalone consumer brand and as part of our wider automotive strategy. We’re confident this will be a valuable addition to the business.”
Touring.co.uk joins a portfolio that includes The Intermediary, Workplace Journal, and Astor Media’s automotive and mobility titles: Business Motoring, Business Vans, Motor Trade News and Leasing Broker News.
Astor Media is actively seeking further acquisitions and is already in discussions with several specialist titles.
