Mears Group PLC, the provider of housing services to the public and regulated sectors in the UK, has appointed Kiren Sampla (pictured) as its next employee director to the board.
Sampla takes over from Hema Nar, who stepped down at the end of 2025 after a three-year term.
Sampla will lead the employee representative team, which ensures the views of colleagues are heard by the board.
Sampla has worked in the HR function at Mears since 2015 and brings experience and insight to the role.
Sampla said: “I’m honoured to take on the role of Employee Director at Mears Group.
“This position is a vital link between our colleagues and the Board, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.
“I look forward to building on the fantastic progress made by Hema and continuing to strengthen engagement across the business.”
Sampla added: “Together, we can drive initiatives that make a real difference for our people and the communities we operate in.”
Jim Clarke, chairman of Mears Group, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Hema for her outstanding contribution and the tremendous progress achieved during her tenure.
“The Employee Director position was first introduced in 2018, and its value has grown year on year.
“Mears was one of the first listed companies to adopt this innovative approach to employee engagement, and the impact has been transformative.”
Clarke added: “The Employee Director together with the Employee Representative team has become a vital communication channel, ensuring the Board receives open and honest feedback from our workforce and has been instrumental in driving several successful initiatives.
“We are delighted to welcome Kiren to the Board following a rigorous internal selection process.
“We look forward to continuing to strengthen employee engagement across the Group.”
