Nicholas Murphy (pictured), branch manager at Vertu Vauxhall and Citroën Northampton, has been named a finalist in the 2025 British Forces in Business Awards, earning national recognition for his leadership in the motor retail sector.
Murphy was shortlisted in the Team Leader of the Year category, selected from a pool of more than 950 nominees.
The British Forces in Business Awards celebrates veterans transitioning into civilian careers and highlights the significant contribution former service personnel make across UK industries.
Following his service in the Royal Navy, Murphy entered the motor retail sector and has rapidly progressed to his current leadership role at Vertu’s Northampton dealership.
His focus on team development, operational excellence and leadership has earned praise from both within the company and across the wider industry.
Murphy said: “It’s an honour to be recognised alongside such an inspiring group of individuals.
“My time in the Royal Navy taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of teamwork, which are skills I use every day. I’m proud to represent both the military and the motor retail industry at these awards.”
Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “We are incredibly proud of Nick and his well-deserved nomination.
“His dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence are exemplary.
“At Vertu, we value the experience and work ethic that veterans bring to our business, and Nick’s journey is a brilliant example of that in action.”
The winners of the British Forces in Business Awards 2025 will be announced at a gala ceremony at Grosvenor House, London, on 26th June.
