Glassdoor has unveiled its Best Places to Work 2025 list, showcasing the top UK employers based on employee reviews. This year, semiconductor and software design company Arm has claimed the top spot for the first time. Employees commended Arm’s strong workplace culture, supportive community, competitive compensation, and exciting projects, making it a standout choice among hundreds of thousands of employers.
The top 50 companies span 15 industries, including technology, media, and consulting, with many praised for fostering transparency, leadership quality, and work-life balance. Arm’s first-place ranking reflects its ability to engage employees through meaningful and innovative work. Equal Experts, Informa, and SAP also ranked highly, with staff noting the inclusive environments, autonomy, and strong community offered by these organisations.
This year’s list highlights the dominance of the technology sector, with 11 tech companies featured, four of which made the top 10. Over half of the employers on the UK list are headquartered domestically, and 28 are newcomers. The focus on flexible working arrangements, better benefits, and improved work-life balance helped many organisations stand out in employee evaluations.
Christian Sutherland-Wong, chief executive officer at Glassdoor, said the awards were about more than just recognition. “The Best Places to Work award is more than just recognition—it’s a trusted guide for job seekers striving to find not only a great workplace but also a better worklife. By showcasing companies where employees truly thrive, this award empowers professionals to choose employers that align with their values and priorities. It also highlights the critical role of transparency and feedback in shaping a future where work supports a fulfilling life.”
Glassdoor’s UK list sits alongside its rankings for the U.S. and U.S. Small & Medium Companies categories, with seven companies, including Microsoft, Salesforce, and Boston Consulting Group, appearing on both the UK and U.S. lists.
