Adecco, the provider of workforce solutions, has announced a renewed commitment to refugee inclusion, setting ambitious goals to recruit 85,000 refugees and train 17,000 globally by the end of 2027. This announcement follows Adecco’s initial pledge made at Tent’s European Business Summit in 2023 and marks a significant step in the company’s long-standing efforts to support displaced individuals.
To facilitate this goal, Adecco is launching a Jobs for Refugees website, designed to connect refugees with employment opportunities that match their skills. This initiative builds on Adecco’s history of aiding refugees since 2008 through partnerships with NGOs, governmental bodies, and businesses worldwide.
Christophe Catoir, President of Adecco, highlighted the importance of work for refugees: “Most importantly, no one chooses to be a refugee. We strongly believe that work is not just a source of income, but a first, important step for rebuilding a life, integrating in a new country and finding a place in society again. Moreover, for companies, embracing diversity by employing refugees brings unique perspectives, strong loyalty, and much-needed skills to the workforce.”
The company’s commitment also aligns with global efforts to support refugees, as emphasised by Gideon Maltz, CEO of the Tent Partnership for Refugees. Maltz praised Adecco’s bold initiative, particularly in light of the ongoing displacement caused by the war in Ukraine and other crises.
In Germany, Adecco’s participation in the “Job Turbo for the Integration of Refugees into the Labour Market” initiative, in collaboration with companies like L’Oréal, aims to employ at least 10,000 refugees by the end of 2025. This effort underscores the role of quality temporary employment in facilitating quick integration into the labor market.
Adecco’s work with refugees began in Italy over 15 years ago and has since expanded globally.
