The TUC Cymru Twf Charter – The Welsh Language at Work Charter – aims to support workers, trade union branches and employers in creating inclusive bilingual workplace.
The jobs fair, organised as part of the Government’s Youth Guarantee scheme, brought together more than 40 employers and training providers.
Dr Mandy James said: “Using the Welsh language is a valuable and practical skill in the workplace and enriches our social life and communities in Wales."

The programme will focus on providing job coaching, skills workshops, travel training and practical support to help adults move into paid employment.

The report examined the long-term sustainability of general practice following concerns over funding, workforce pressures and patient access.

The funding will provide training programmes and paid work placements organised by social housing groups and professionals.
Funding has been confirmed for 16 areas across England and Wales, including Mid Wales, North Wales and South West Wales.

The Charter, developed with UNISON Cymru, aims to prevent exploitation, promote fair work, and set clear expectations for ethical recruitment and pay.

The funding boost increases the resources available through the Tata Steel / Port Talbot Transition Board, which was established to protect jobs during the transition to greener steelmaking.

The union body said analysis suggests Reform UK policies could put almost 40,000 Welsh industrial jobs at risk.

The deal, announced today, 12th December, covers the 2025–26 financial year and elements of 2026–27.

Skills pilots will run in Pembrokeshire, Cheshire and Lincolnshire, with £2.5m of Government funding to support new training centres, courses or career advisers.
