The regulator said stronger funding positions mean many schemes are now moving away from deficit repair strategies and instead focusing on long-term objectives.

The Pension Scams Action Group responded to the Home Office’s announcement of a new Online Crime Centre, unveiled on 9th March as part of the government’s updated Fraud Strategy.

86% of the largest schemes offer at least one retirement income option, compared to just 46% of small schemes.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services regulation and public policy, including senior roles at HM Treasury and leadership of the Government’s Pensions Investment Review.

The Pensions Regulator (TPR), the Fraud Compensation Fund (FCF), The Pensions Ombudsman (TPO) and Dalriada Trustees confirmed today (19th August) that £81.5m has so far been paid to 58 pension schemes whose members were defrauded by scammers.

The regulator has said it will continue raising standards of trusteeship through its supervisory approach and forthcoming guidance on what good practice looks like.
The appointment will last up to nine months, with Baker set to receive £73,840 a year for a minimum of 104 days' work.

TPR's guidance shows what information applicants need to provide, with links to application forms and a clear explanation of everyone’s roles.
