NEU pauses strike ballot following £500m funding commitment
The ballot, which had been due to launch on 3rd October, was paused following a meeting of the union’s executive yesterday, Thursday 24th September.

The ballot, which had been due to launch on 3rd October, was paused following a meeting of the union’s executive yesterday, Thursday 24th September.

The union said expanding SEND provision will increase pressure on an already stretched workforce, particularly teaching assistants who play a central role in supporting children with additional needs.

Teaching assistants in the UK are being compelled to take on more classroom responsibilities, including leading lessons, due to ongoing teacher shortages and funding cuts.
