The strikes are set for 27th April to 1st May, 11th May to 15th May and 25th May to 29th May.

Research from VinciWorks found that while 81% planned to increase efforts around sexual harassment prevention, fewer than one in 20 (5%) rated their current training as excellent.

One in three (33%) said they are not prepared for the changes, which start in October 2026.

The survey of 243 HR and compliance professionals by VinciWorks found that over one in five (21%) said their organisation provides no sexual harassment training at all.

Baroness Kishwer Falkner, chairwoman of the EHRC, said: “We’re pleased with the significant steps McDonald’s has agreed to take towards a safer working environment for its staff.”

John Kirkpatrick, CEO of the EHRC, said: “We welcome the measures put in place to ensure that their workplaces are free of sexual harassment."

The survey of more than 400 HR professionals revealed significant compliance gaps despite the clear legal and reputational risks, with many employers still in the process of fully implementing the necessary measures.

The partnership will see a series of online and in-person sessions designed to help employers understand their legal duties around harassment.

The survey reported 43% of men and 48% of women had faced sexual harassment in the workplace.

Six in ten women say they have experienced workplace sexual harassment, with most choosing not to report it.
