
Living Wage momentum delivers £4.1bn in extra pay for workers over 25-year history

Data from the Living Wage Foundation found 64% said enhanced sick pay and support when returning to work would make them more likely to stay in their job.

The list of accredited employers includes large firms like Aviva, SSE plc and Everton FC.

Research by the Living Wage Foundation found 42% of low-paid workers used foodbanks in the past year, rising to 56% for those with dependent children.

Jonathan McAlpin said: “We hope our accreditation sends a clear message to our community and peers that fair pay matters."
40% said they were struggling more now than before they retired, while 36% saw no change in their finances since leaving work.

Everton is now one of 11 premier league clubs with Living Wage accreditation, and the first to reach Living Pension status.

The accreditation goes beyond paying the real Living Wage by also committing employers to provide workers with secure, guaranteed working hours.

A study from Cardiff Business School found over half a million workers have received pay rises through the Living Wage scheme since 2011.

Clare Duncan said: "We involved employers, workers and campaigners throughout the process to make sure the refreshed brand still feels like theirs."
The Living Wage Foundation analysis revealed that the gender low pay gap has increased to 6.1 percentage points in 2024 from 4.7 in 2022.
