Atos has partnered with Futures Readiness to provide free artificial intelligence (AI) education to up to 650,000 learners across the West Midlands.

It will be delivered with BMet’s digital technical excellence college, the Sir Peter Rigby Charitable Trust and the Rigby Foundation, and is endorsed by Birmingham City Council.

The programme will provide schools and colleges with resources covering developments in AI, education, work and society.

New interactive videos will be produced every three weeks, with discussion prompts and questions for students and staff.

The programme will focus on AI literacy, critical thinking and deciding when AI should be used or approached with caution.

Michael Herron, head of Atos UK&I, said: “I’m delighted to be able to support the communities we work in with AI readiness skills that help young people to thrive in a future workplace where humans and AI co-exist.”
