Travelodge has expanded its employment programme, supporting eight care-experienced young people across Greater Manchester.
The Care to Career scheme includes confidence-building workshops and two days of practical experience in hotel operations.
Participants who complete the programme will receive a guaranteed interview with Travelodge.
The programme followed a pilot in Liverpool in 2024 and was delivered with Catch22’s Care Leavers into Careers initiative.
Sandhiya Patel, social mobility manager at Travelodge, said: “Hospitality is about people and this scheme is all about giving local young people a genuine chance to succeed.
“Following the success of our Liverpool pilot, expanding the CLIC programme into Manchester allowed us to create real, practical opportunities for care leavers who face significant barriers to employment, helping them build confidence, gain hands-on experience, and take their first meaningful steps into the workplace.”
Cath Forshaw, operations manager for the CLIC programme at Catch22, said: “Travelodge continues to set a high standard as an employer committed to supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds.
“The Manchester programme has provided participants with valuable skills, confidence and insight into the workplace, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.”
