TPR launches outcomes-focused enforcement approach for pension savers
TPR encouraged trustees, advisers and employers to read the approach to understand its priorities and the standards introduced by the Pension Schemes Act 2026.
The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has launched an enforcement approach focused on preventing harm and improving outcomes for pension savers.
It set out how TPR would use supervision, engagement and enforcement powers.
The approach moved oversight away from a focus on compliance towards earlier action to prevent problems.
TPR said it will use data and intelligence to identify emerging risks sooner and act before problems become worse.
It will focus on governance and administration while taking a proportionate approach and limiting unnecessary work for well-run schemes.
TPR encouraged trustees, advisers and employers to read the approach to understand its priorities and the standards introduced by the Pension Schemes Act 2026.
