Reward Gateway | Edenred launched Engage, a new mobile-first employee engagement app, at an event held today (16th September) at Lightroom, Kings Cross, London.

The app brings employee benefits, discounts, recognition, wellbeing support and workplace communications into one place.

It sits within Reward Gateway | Edenred’s wider EngagementOS operating system and includes an AI-powered assistant to help employees find information and an artificial intelligence (AI) Recognition Coach to support staff writing recognition messages.

Speaking at the launch, Joe Walsh, managing director, UK & Ireland at Reward Gateway | Edenred, said the company had heard similar challenges from employers, HR leaders and prospective clients.

He said: “Over the last year we have spent a huge amount of time listening to our clients, our respective clients, HR leaders and wider community we are lucky to work with each day.

“And despite working across completely different organisations, we kept hearing the same thing: too many systems, too little usage and too much difficultly in proving value.”

Walsh said the average UK company used between three and five platforms to deliver its employee experience, while the average login rate stood at 29%.

He added: “We’ve added more technology, more tools, more capability. But we’ve added complexity.”

Engage builds on the company’s existing SmartSpending offering and is designed to encourage employees to return to their workplace benefits and engagement tools more regularly.

Walsh said: “It’s built around reducing friction and creating repeat behaviours that turn usage into habit.”

The company also announced a new partnership with Workday at the event, intended to connect EngagementOS more closely with employers’ existing HR systems.
