Point S International has brought together young automotive business leaders from nine countries for its second Next Generation Campus, focused on helping independent workshops manage growth amid changes across the aftermarket.

Running from 31st August to 4th September in Provence, France, the programme followed the inaugural event in 2025 and is aimed at the next generation of family business leaders within the Point S network.

This year’s programme focuses on four areas – My Growth, Team Growth, Business Growth and Brand Growth – covering leadership and management, employee development, customer satisfaction, commercial and financial performance and local digital visibility.

Participants from Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Norway, Slovakia, South Africa and the UK are attending, ranging from students preparing to enter family businesses to employees moving towards leadership roles and recent successors already responsible for day-to-day management.

Fabien Bouquet, CEO at Point S International, said: “The independent sector, like many others, is undergoing an age of rapid digital transformation.

“New technologies, digital tools, and AI are changing the way workshops operate and engage with customers, but sustainable success depends on much more than technology alone.

“Strong leadership, motivated teams, good commercial management, and an exceptional customer experience remain the foundations of every successful business.

“Our role is to help the next generation develop the skills to grow across all of these areas with confidence.”

Point S said the programme was designed to address the long-term challenge of succession within family-run automotive businesses as emerging leaders face workforce shortages, changing customer expectations, digitalisation, electrification and evolving vehicle technologies.

Alongside its formal sessions, the campus includes team activities and networking opportunities intended to build an international peer network between future business leaders.

Professional translation services are also being provided to participants.

Bouquet said: “Last year’s historic inaugural campus demonstrated the value of bringing together the next generation of leaders from across our European network.

“The challenges facing our industry continue to evolve, making it more important than ever that young business leaders develop the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to lead with confidence.

“By investing in their development today, we are helping ensure that our members remain strong, innovative and successful for generations to come.”

Point S has 3,150 members and more than 7,244 points of sale across 54 countries, employing more than 33,500 people.
