Almost half (48%) of business travellers said better travel benefits would make them more likely to stay with their employer, research from Dragonpass found.

The travel and lifestyle benefits platform also found that 27% of business travellers said travel-related stress had negatively affected their performance.

The findings come as Dragonpass launched Dragonpass for Business Travel, a corporate travel benefit offering employees access to airport lounges, Fast Track security, dining credit, travel eSIMs and airport transfers.

Dragonpass said the proposition has been designed to allow employers to maintain travel benefits while reducing their reliance on more expensive airline fares.

Its analysis found that an employee making four return journeys between London and Paris could cost an employer £2,080 when travelling with BA Club Europe.

Four equivalent easyJet journeys, including seat selection and an annual Dragonpass membership, were calculated at £703, representing a potential saving of £1,377, or 66.2%, per employee.

Across 100 employees making the same number of journeys, Dragonpass estimated that annual costs could fall from £208,000 to £70,300, a difference of £137,700.

The analysis comes amid wider pressure on corporate travel budgets.

Research cited by Dragonpass found that 81% of CFOs said budget constraints were preventing employees from travelling as much as required to perform their jobs effectively, while 69% of travel managers believed their organisation’s budget did not reflect the importance of business travel to company success.
