Bristol Myers Squibb awarded Menopause Friendly Honour

Bristol Myers Squibb has been awarded a Menopause Friendly Honour for being the first employer to gain Menopause Friendly Accreditation across the UK, Australia and the US. 

The accreditation, set up by Menopause in the Workplace by Henpicked, requires employers to show evidence to an independent panel across five areas: culture, policies and practices, training, engagement and working environment.

Guy Oliver, general manager at Bristol Myers Squibb UK and Ireland, said: “Receiving this honour is a proud moment for us, not just because we were the first to start this journey, but because of what it represents: a commitment to making sure that no colleague has to navigate menopause alone or in silence. 

“What began here in the UK with one person’s courage to share their experience has grown into something far greater than we could have imagined – a movement that has now touched our company across three continents. 

“For too long, menopause has been treated as something to manage quietly and out of sight. We believe the opposite.”

Oliver added: “Conversations about menopause should be as natural and supported as any other aspect of health and wellbeing at work – for those living through it, for those who love someone who is, and for the managers and colleagues who simply want to do the right thing.”
