Alpha Living backs construction training at Wirral development

Alpha Living has supported construction training and work experience at its extra care development in Moreton on the Wirral.

The housing provider worked with construction partner Vistry to provide Abdul Arian Basir (pictured) with work experience and mentoring at Driftwood Gardens.

Basir moved from Afghanistan to Liverpool to complete a master’s degree and pursue a career in construction.

He completed Construction Skills Certification Scheme card training and a groundworks and street works course through Complete Skills Solutions.

Basir then worked with Vistry’s site team and J & P Civil Engineering. 

He also represented Vistry at an English for Speakers of Other Languages conference in Ellesmere Port, attended by more than 100 learners.

He later became an assistant site manager at J & P Civil Engineering.

Basir said: “I can’t thank Alpha Living, Complete Skills Solutions, J & P Civil Engineering, Vistry and further partners enough, enabling me to gain on the job skills training.
