Walbrook Institute London expanded its apprenticeship scheme to offer new level 3 pathways for aspiring mortgage advisers.

The programme allows mortgage advice firms to attract, train and retain talent with up to 100%-funded, fully-managed apprenticeships.

Apprentices can now study for London Institute of Banking and Finance’s (LIBF’s) Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) qualification alongside others in the cohort.

Apprentices will study online on LIBF’s interactive learning environment with peers.

Gordon Reid, business development manager at LIBF, part of Walbrook Institute London, said: “As the biggest mortgage advice educator in the UK, it’s the natural move to expand our successful professional education apprenticeship pathways to the mortgage advice sector.

“As an apprenticeship and financial services qualification provider which is also a membership body, we can provide a whole solution.

“New apprentices will have the chance to be part of a network with both peers and more experienced professionals.”

Reid added: “Through this new pathway, we can help firms to recruit, train and support the next generation of talent using the national apprenticeship levy.

“Using pathways like this, which are aligned to employer needs and the national skills agenda, we’re also playing our part in tackling the wider issue of youth unemployment.”

Daniel Hobbs, CEO of New Leaf Distribution, said: “We’re incredibly proud to work with Walbrook Institute London on this exciting initiative to bring new talent into mortgage advice.
