St Leger Homes reports surge in World of Work programme participants
During the year, 24 participants secured paid jobs as cleaners, caretakers' assistants, office assistants or external property maintenance operatives.

St Leger Homes has posted strong growth in its World of Work programme, with 57 people attending support and learn courses in the year ending March 2026.
During the year, 24 participants secured paid jobs as cleaners, caretakers’ assistants, office assistants or external property maintenance operatives.
Several participants went on to permanent roles, including two apprenticeships, while others have found work with different employers.
The scheme helps local people build confidence, develop new skills and gain work experience, giving a route into long-term employment.
It also provides support for people who do not join a course, helping them access training, advice and job opportunities.
Nigel Blackburn, team leader at World of Work, said: “I’ve managed the World of Work Team for the past nine years and during that time I have had a great deal of satisfaction from seeing each new trainee progress through the scheme, developing and gaining new skills and confidence as the time passes.
“It’s great to see them progress and, in many cases, achieve a permanent position with us.
“Over the years there have been many success stories and it’s been a pleasure to be involved in something that has been life-changing for those trainees.”
