Gloucestershire College set to boost construction skills with £4.5m centre
The centre, due to open in 2028, aims to train more post-16 learners and help tackle the skills shortage in the construction sector across Gloucestershire.

Gloucestershire College is set to open a new construction centre at its Gloucester campus after securing £4.5m from the Post-16 Capacity Fund.
The centre, due to open in 2028, aims to train more post-16 learners and help tackle the skills shortage in the construction sector across Gloucestershire.
The new facility will be based at 125 Business Park and will focus on giving students technical, practical and green skills for careers in construction.
Courses will cover electrical, plumbing, wood trades, brickwork, plastering and maintenance.
The centre will also support the Gloucester Climate Change Strategy by embedding green skills into all programmes.
Andy Bates, chief financial officer at Gloucestershire College, said: “At Gloucestershire College we are focused on tackling the key workforce and skills challenges our region faces.
“This funding will enable us to expand our trade-based offering at our Gloucester campus.
“This project will be key to addressing the increasing demand from people wanting to enter trade-based careers in Gloucestershire.”
