CAE marks record completion rate at Pathways Academy

The Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) marked its most successful Pathways Academy year to date, with fifteen disabled Londoners completing the programme. 

Pathways, funded by City Bridge Foundation, was set up in 2020 to give disabled people in London the skills, confidence and support to start a career in inclusive design and access.

The class of 2026 completed nine months of specialist training, reaching a 100% completion rate.

Sarah Bond, an architecture graduate from Romford, said: “The experience I’ve gained on the course has helped me understand how to translate my understanding of inclusive design into written guidance and create access audits with practical recommendations.” 

Fara Muneer, head of business development at CAE, said: “Pathways is a huge success and demonstrates what can happen when people are given the right specialist training, networks, connections and practical experience. 

“The class of 2026 experiences reflect what Pathways set out to achieve, giving disabled people the technical skills, professional networks and lived experience into a career in inclusive design.”
