Shoosmiths strengthens pensions team with partner hire

Shoosmiths has appointed Michael Collins as partner in the pensions team in Birmingham. 

Collins joins from Gateley Legal, where he was partner and head of pensions for almost 20 years. 

He brings nearly three decades worth of experience advising employers and trustees of occupational pension schemes on pensions law. 

His work covered risk transfer, defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) schemes, and 

He is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and a former chair of the West Midlands group of the Pension and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA).
