Female-majority cabinet could inspire future leaders, says Biscuit Recruitment
Frances Li noted that seeing women in senior roles can inspire others to aim for leadership positions and help drive change at every level.
Frances Li, founder and director at Biscuit Recruitment, has praised Andy Burnham’s cabinet announcement, highlighting that women now hold 12 of its 23 full positions.
Women lead departments including the home office, housing and education.
Li noted that seeing women in senior roles can inspire others to aim for leadership positions and help drive change at every level.
Li said: “A female-majority cabinet matters not only because of who is sitting around the table today, but because of who may now believe they could sit there in future.
“For the first time in British history, women outnumber men in the cabinet, holding 12 of its 23 full positions.
“Women now lead major departments including the home office, housing and education, placing female leadership at the centre of influential national decisions.”
Li added: “As the founder of a recruitment business operating across the UK and US, I see first-hand how representation shapes ambition.
“When people can see individuals like themselves succeeding in senior roles, progression feels achievable rather than theoretical.
