Actor becomes the world’s most searched-for dream job, Remitly finds
Data also showed the growing interest in digital careers, with YouTuber leading the digital category for the third year running at 148,430 searches.

Remitly has reported that being an actor is now the most searched-for dream job worldwide, with 222,080 annual searches for “how to be an actor”.
This is an 11.5% rise from 2024 and marks the first time acting has overtaken pilot, which had 221,060 searches but saw a 48% drop since the last study.
Pilot dropped to second place after leading since 2022, but remains the most searched-for career in 11 countries.
Firefighter has taken third spot, rising 13 places with 171,330 searches.
Legal careers have also surged, with “how to be a lawyer” jumping 55 places to fourth, up 273% since 2024.
Physiotherapy climbed 55 places into the top 20, with 85,430 searches.
Data showed that nearly three quarters of people globally (74.6%) say they would like to be their own boss, but only a third (33.3%) would be looking to take steps to make that dream a reality in 2026.
