77% of employers expect AI to become a baseline workplace skill – HiBob

More than three-quarters (77%) of UK organisations expect artificial intelligence (AI) skills to be a baseline requirement for most non-technical roles within two years, according to research from HiBob.

Data showed that 82% are investing in upskilling or reskilling, and 80% have a strategy for sourcing AI-skilled candidates.

HiBob has launched its AI Skills Framework and AI Skills Assessment Guide to help firms build workforces ready for AI. 

Data also showed that nearly two-thirds of organisations use AI skills for promotion decisions, 61% factor them into performance reviews and 31% consider them when determining pay. 

97% are willing to pay at least a 10% salary premium for at least one AI capability.

Ronni Zehavi, CEO and co-founder at HiBob, said: “Too many organisations are still trying to manage a changing workforce with disconnected systems and fragmented skills data. 

“That is the wrong model for the AI era. The winners in the AI era will be the organisations that can define a shared language of skills, identify where capability truly sits, and pivot talent to where it creates the most value. That is the system we are enabling today.”
