Workplace wellbeing crucial for happy and productive employees, says Reward Gateway | Edenred

Workplace wellbeing is crucial for happy and productive employees, and a thriving workforce translates into a thriving economy, according to Chris Britton, people experience director at Reward Gateway | Edenred.
Marking World Wellbeing Week, Britton highlighted the pressures many employees face in the current economic climate, with a significant number staying in roles longer than they would like due to uncertainty.
Britton said: “Our research revealed that 26% of working Brits have stayed in their role for longer than they would like due to economic conditions, even if they’re unhappy with their current position or workplace.
“This is reflected in rising demand for financial wellbeing and cost-saving benefits, as well as general wellbeing initiatives.
“During these tense times, businesses should look out for their employees to prevent burn-out, sickness leave and prolonged periods of absences – an effort that will benefit not the workforce, but the organisation as a whole.”
Britton shared his tips for employee wellbeing.
He said consistent appreciation and gratitude are important, and that a culture of recognition will foster happiness and encourage positive contributions.
Britton also advised businesses to regularly communicate about their benefits so employees know what is available.
