Leonardo UK launches virtual work experience to widen access for young people

Leonardo has launched a new virtual work experience programme with Springpod to reach more young people across the UK. 

The programme aims to help students aged 13 and above access career insights and industry experience from anywhere. 

The new virtual scheme offers six hours of on-demand content, interactive activities and real-world challenges, allowing students to learn about careers in technology, engineering and manufacturing. 

Students can also hear from Leonardo staff including apprentices, graduates, experienced professionals and senior leaders such as Clive Higgins, CEO and chair of Leonardo UK.

Michelle Strange, UK STEM lead at Leonardo, said: “At Leonardo, we know that meaningful work experience can play a transformative role in helping young people understand the opportunities available to them and make informed decisions about their future careers. 

“While our existing site-based programmes continue to have a significant impact, we wanted to create a solution that could reach more students, regardless of where they live.”
