Arriva creates new jobs with Canvey Island and Southend bus service

Arriva has launched a new direct bus service connecting Canvey Island and Southend Seafront, creating 12 jobs.
The 1X service runs every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday, with the last return from Canvey at 7:45pm and 7:43pm on Saturdays.
The service restores a quick and direct link between the two areas and helps boost local connectivity.
Michael Jennings, commercial director for Arriva Southern Counties, said: “We’re thrilled to have launched the 1X which is already transforming travel connections for people in the local area.
“The service offers a quick, direct way for people to travel between Canvey Island and Southend Seafront.
“It’s also important to us to ensure that the service is as accessible as possible, which is why we’ve capped fares at £3 for a single journey.”
