Employers said AI will change how employee experience is delivered, with 59% expecting major shifts in the next three years and 89% in the next decade.
Employers are starting to face more anxiety among staff about losing their jobs as artificial intelligence (AI) changes the workplace, according to WTW’s 2026 Employee Experience Global Market Study.
The research found a gap between how fast technology is moving and how ready workers are for it.
Employers said AI will change how employee experience is delivered, with 59% expecting major shifts in the next three years and 89% in the next decade.
Automation and digital tools are expected to handle 31% of work within three years, up from 14% today.
This has led to a fear of becoming obsolete, as employees question their place in a more automated workplace.
WTW stated that employers should look beyond just measuring engagement and focus on employee impact, which is about how well people adapt and deliver results.
Additionally, WTW said organisations can do this by creating a high impact employee experience built on clarity, confidence, capability and connection.
The research found 34% of organisations prioritised employee experience over the last three years and outperformed their peers on productivity, profitability and workforce outcomes.
