Luton Town FC appoints William Lancefield as head of recruitment

Luton Town has appointed William Lancefield as head of recruitment, arriving from Heart of Midlothian where he held the same role. 

Lancefield has previously worked in scouting and analysis at Southampton, Norwich City, Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

He will lead the recruitment department following an end-of-season review, using his experience to develop a data-informed approach to talent identification aligned with the club’s playing philosophy and squad strategy.

Lancefield will lead the department with Yousuf Sajjad continuing as player recruitment manager, Marc Tracy as chief scout and Mick Harford as senior scout and club ambassador.

Lancefield said: “I’m delighted to be joining Luton Town. After I met with the club and learned more about its potential and ambition, I knew straight away this was one I wanted to be a part of. 

“I understand what it takes to build strong, competitive squads, and I’m looking forward to working closely with Jack and the wider staff to recruit players who reflect Luton’s identity and ambition.”
