Zurich Corporate Risk has launched a cancer risk assessment tool in partnership with Further to support employee wellbeing.

The digital tool is designed for group risk customers and aims to help employees better understand their risk of developing cancer, while providing guidance on prevention and early detection.

Zurich said the initiative comes as the number of working-age people living with cancer continues to rise, with around 890,000 currently affected in the UK.

This figure is expected to increase to 1.15 million by 2030.

Cancer is also a leading cause of claims within Zurich Corporate Risk’s portfolio, with employees typically requiring around 15 weeks off work following diagnosis.

The tool provides users with a personalised assessment of their cancer risk, alongside evidence-based recommendations on lifestyle changes and screening.

Zurich said the platform is designed to support employers in promoting healthier workforces and reducing absence linked to serious illness.

Nick Homer, head of market management at Zurich Corporate Risk, said: “Cancer has a profound and lasting impact on employees, their families and the businesses they work for.

“By giving people a personalised understanding of their cancer risk – and the steps they can take to help reduce it – we’re empowering workforces to take proactive control of their wellbeing.

“This new tool enhances our commitment to supporting customers not just at claim stage, but throughout their employees’ health journeys.”

“Employers who adopt structured, science-led risk assessment and prevention programmes not only protect their people and reduce avoidable absence costs, but also demonstrate decisive, long-term leadership in safeguarding the health and resilience of their workforce.”
