Lindum delivers new specialist dental training facilities to boost dental workforce

Lindum, the Lincolnshire-based construction company, has completed specialist dental training facilities at the University of Lincoln. 

The project involved refurbishing the Ross Lucas Medical Sciences Building to support Lincolnshire’s future dental workforce. 

The completion allowed the university to open the Lincolnshire Institute of Dental and Oral Health, aimed at strengthening the dental workforce and improving access to NHS dental care in the county. 

Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, formally opened the new facilities at a launch event attended by NHS leaders, dental professionals and regional partners.

Edward Chambers, co-chairman at Lindum, said: “We are delighted to support the University of Lincoln as it expands its healthcare training offer. 

“The installation of specialist dental simulation equipment required careful planning and close collaboration with the University and designers Pick Everard, and it’s fantastic to see the facilities now open and ready for students. 

“This project will play an important role in helping address dental workforce shortages across Lincolnshire.”

The university intends to develop the institute into a fully-fledged dental school, subject to national approval.
