Fix Auto UK has launched the EmpowHER programme, designed to attract, support and retain female talent across the organisation.

The programme’s objectives include increasing the number of women joining, enhancing retention and progression for existing female talent, introducing satisfaction benchmarks to improve the experience of women in the organisation and publishing an annual gender pay gap report.

It will provide structured leadership development, mentoring and increased visibility.

Fix Auto UK has been a member of the Automotive 30% Club for two years, as it aims to achieve at least 30% female representation.

The company said more than 50% of its senior leadership are women.

EmpowHER was developed in-house and will launch with a 30-second video to highlight its ambitions.

Fix Auto UK said it is seeing a growing number of women joining its network, as the industry recognises the value of diverse perspectives, skills and leadership styles.

Erika Woolacott, managing director of Fix Auto Mid Devon and Newton Abbot, and chair of the EmpowHER Leadership Team, said: “Opportunity and belief can transform careers in this industry — I’ve seen that first hand.

“As a second-generation franchise owner, running one of the UK’s few female-led repair centres alongside my sister, I’m incredibly proud to continue the legacy started by our mum, Louise, who was a true trailblazer in what has traditionally been a male-dominated sector.

“EmpowHER reflects our commitment to creating real opportunities for women at every stage of their careers, from entering the industry to progressing into leadership.
