Chelmsford City Football Club appoints head of recruitment
Angelo Harrop said: “In football it is crucial that you have the right people working at football clubs, and James Crysell is definitley one of them."
Chelmsford City Football Club has strengthened its backroom staff with the appointment of James Crysell (pictured) as head of recruitment.
Crysell previously worked with Angelo Harrop, first-team manager at Chelmsford City, at Braintree Town, where he was appointed club secretary in June 2023.
Crysell said: “I’ve been here in the background for a while, having worked with Angelo for the past 4 years and he’s asked me to step up into a more recruitment focused role which I’m happy to do so.
“I’ve obviously worked at Braintree, and supported them, but I’m here as a Chelmsford City member of staff and I’m going to give everything to help the side progress, hopefully out of this division and into the National League.
“I was secretary with Braintree and ended up heavily involved in the playing side of things, speaking to agents and contacting various clubs, so having those connections will stand me in good stead as head of recruitment.”
Harrop said: “In football it is crucial that you have the right people working at football clubs, and James is definitley one of them.
“He works incredibly hard, and over the past few seasons he has played a big part in helping me build successful squads, so I’m delighted that he has come onboard officially in this role.”
