Interviews were the biggest barrier for neurodiverse jobseekers, according to research by recruiter Pertemps Network Group.

The survey, which ran on LinkedIn during Neurodiversity Celebration Week, found that 66% of respondents said interviews were the hardest part of getting a job.

Job attraction and advertising were seen as moderately challenging by 14%, career progression by 12% and onboarding by 8%.

Abigail Farnham (pictured), director at Pertemps, said: “Removing barriers to employment continues to be a priority for many of our clients, and a growing number are asking for support to reassess their hiring practices, so they are accessible, inclusive and reflective of different ways of thinking and communicating.

“This research shows that meaningful change requires more than intent. It requires practical adjustments to how candidates are assessed.”
