Hailsham Town Council has appointed Rachel Brazier as the new human resources (HR) manager after a staff structure review.
Brazier has previously worked in HR roles in different industries supporting senior leaders.
In her new job, Brazier will handle all HR functions for teams across the council including corporate services, operations and facilities, Hailsham Youth Service and Hailsham Post Office.
Day-to-day, she will be involved in strategic planning, policy development and implementing best practice across HR.
Brazier said: “I am delighted to have been selected for this position. Hailsham Town Council is a forward-thinking organisation, and this is a very important time for everyone involved.
“There are significant opportunities arising from the continued development of the Town Council’s staff, and I am looking forward to applying the skills and experience I have gained in previous roles within a new and rewarding setting.”
Town Clerk John Harrison said: “The Human Resources Manager role is instrumental in supporting the planning, strategy and delivery of our services and activities.
“This is the first time the Council has appointed someone to a dedicated role of this nature, reflecting our commitment to investing in our staff and strengthening the organisation as a whole.
“We are pleased to welcome Rachel to the team and look forward to working with her during this exciting period of change and improvement for Hailsham Town Council.”
