Camden Council hit its target of creating 100 accessible employment opportunities in 100 days, through its Camden 100 in 100 – Pave the Way campaign.
The campaign brought together major employers in the borough to design roles for residents facing barriers to work, such as care leavers, refugees and people with disabilities.
The council worked with local employers and institutions to provide apprenticeships, internships, work experience placements and paid jobs.
The aim was to help residents develop skills, understand different industries and build long-term careers.
Employers who took part included the Francis Crick Institute, UCL, Mace Dragados, HS2, Skanska Costain, Vision Hall, Unilabs, Kimpton Fitzroy, Derwent London Plc, Shaftesbury Theatre, the British Museum and KX Recruit.
Councillor Sabrina Francis, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Culture and Young People at Camden Council, said: “In Camden, we believe everyone should have access to good, secure, well-paid work close to home.
“That’s why we’re linking residents who need it most with the borough’s leading institutions right on their doorstep, creating routes into key industries that offer a first step into a new career, develop valuable skills and support long-term stability and independence.
“Achieving one hundred pledges in one hundred days shows the commitment of our fantastic and varied local businesses, each playing their part in building a fairer, more inclusive workforce.”
