Govia Thameslink Railway appoints Ruth Busby OBE as people director
Busby will join in November, bringing experience from her previous roles in the rail and public sectors.
Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has appointed Ruth Busby OBE (pictured) as people director.
Busby will join in November, bringing experience from her previous roles in the rail and public sectors.
Busby has worked in rail since 2018, first as HR director at Great Western Railway and then as people & transformation director for Great Western Railway and Network Rail from January 2023.
In these roles, she led people, internal communications, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion across both companies.
Busby was awarded an OBE in the 2023 New Year Honours list for her work on diversity and inclusion in the rail industry.
Before working in rail, she held senior positions at the University of Reading, the Atomic Weapons Establishment and the Civil Service.
Busby said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining GTR as People Director.
“I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to build on GTR’s strong culture and to help create an environment where everyone can thrive.”
